What is the Intervention Room?

There is a school wide system of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
This is a nationally recognized evidenced based program that promotes
positive growth and development of all students. The PBIS program
is the basis of the intervention room (IR). This room is designed for students
who may be struggling in the classroom for various reasons. The school counselor
and para-educator work with students and utilize interventions to help them
reflect on their behaviors and find ways to be successful within the classroom.
Student use of the IR is temporary to debrief behaviors and to problem solve,
then the students will be promptly returned to class. Parents/guardians will be
contacted if their student is being referred to the IR frequently and in need
of more intensive interventions.
